McDonald's Value Double Sandwich

So - to start off my quick cheap meal options, I hit McDonald's today.  My selection? A "double value meal sandwich combo" - consisting of a Grilled Onion Cheddar (previously unknown to me) and a Hot n Spicy McChicken and a large Diet Coke - for a grand total of $3.25 (after tax).

The Grilled Onion Cheddar is an interesting sandwich - it is a McDonald's cheeseburger, but with no condiments, a slice of white cheddar cheese instead of American cheese, and a pile of grilled onions.

Of course this meal combo could be rounded out with regular McChicken sandwiches or a McDouble (best value in my opinion - double meat cheeseburger there).

McChickens (regular or spicy) are a cheap chicken sandwich with lettuce and mayo.

No, I don't eat like this all the time.  But when I do, I'd like to remember - so I don't default to the same meal every time.

Bottom line:
Price: $3.25
Calories: 670

On the Cheapside

Taking perhaps a new direction here - I've often lamented that eating fast food costs almost as much as eating "good" food - but through careful manipulation of value menus, you can get a filling meal for under $5.  I think $3.00 (pre-tax) is about the cheapest I have found and still find myself full at the end, but that's pretty good on a tight lunch budget (which sometimes I am after spending my lunch money on MP3 downloads or other such ridiculous things).

So, I'm going to try to make a point to document my meals on the cheap - partially just so I know what my options are when I've only got a Lincoln in my pocket and need to drive through for a quick bite.
